Just when you thought she had thrown in her apron for good, Jill has re-emerged for a whole new cake-making adventure. She has already restored Evan's Bakery back to its former glory, sending her grandparents on a cruise through the sunny Hawaiian islands. After baking plenty of cakes, Jill decided to take a break. Unfortunately, that break is pretty short lived because it's time for her to head back to the oven and the bakery.
Cake Mania 2 has everything that it's highly successful predecessor had... and more! Word has gotten out about how good Jill is with creating some delectable desserts and now her friends are crashing through the door asking for help. Will you come to their aid and bake up a storm?
Fork in the Road
Very early in the game, you'll have to make a decision. Two of your best friends have come asking for your baking and business expertise and you must decide who gets assistance. Risha is an old college friend who has recently opened a posh rooftop bakery is a major cosmopolitan city. Jack has set up an underwater theme park located on the ocean floor. Each establishment has its own unique quirks and original clientele, so you'll need to adjust your strategy accordingly.
Who will you help? Where will your baking expertise take you? With four other bakery locations in the most unique of places, Jill is in for quite the adventure.
Steps to a Delicious Treat
To serve up one of the ten different cake styles available in this game, you'll have to partake in a fairly extensive multi-step process. This is necessary for each and every of the customers, including the 18 all-new cake-lovers begging for a delicious treat.
To serve a cake:
- Give the incoming customer a menu
- Start baking the appropriate cake at the oven (based on shape)
- Grab the cake and put on the chosen frosting
- Add toppings if necessary
- Bring the cake to the customer
- Collect the money (and tips!)
Bear in mind that this is for each individual customer! Oftentimes you will need to deal with multiple customers at a time, so you must balance your attention between competing priorities. Keep an eye on the number of hearts next to each customer, because this indicates their level of happiness
Another think to remember is that you cannot truly multitask, because if you carry one cake to another, they still stack onto one another. And then they cannot be separated, forcing you to start from scratch for both cakes all over again. Can you taste this recipe for failure?
