Finding the perfect blend between the puzzle and action genres is this fantastic title that'll take you from island to island, collecting bounty and destroying the competition. In Cannon Blast, you drive a pirate ship around on the high seas, but there are some nasty balls in your way. What is a swashbuckler to do?

Simple. As your ship gets surrounded by a seemingly neverending chain of multicolored balls, you hover your mouse cursor over a ball of your choice, click on the left button to grab it and load it into your cannon, and the click again to shoot it to your desired location. Whenever you string together three or more like-colored balls together, they explode and are removed from the chain. What's more, if when the two broken segments reconnect, they create another set of like-toned balls, they blow up too. Chain reactions are perhaps the most fun aspect of this game.

Questing across the High Seas

There are 100 unique stages in all to enjoy, taking you from the most tropical of climes where you will be surrounded by vibrantly rendered palm trees and sandy beaches, to the absolutely frigid arctic where you can almost feel the chilly wind blowing through your very being. Each of these backgrounds are simply gorgeous, but it's the gameply that'll keep you engaged. What's more, there are many helpful powerups that you can unlock that will aid you in your ball-busting journey. Call upon an ice storm, an overgrown hammer, or a big banging bomb. The possibilities are endless.

Colorful Characters to Keep You Company

What story would be complete without a few colorful characters to accompany? Making your way from locale to locale, you'll encounter some rather strange people, some of whom will eventually join your crew and help you in you ball-busting quest. Follow the current, go with the flow, and meet these interesting folks.

But they're not all friendly. At some point, you will enter Armada Mode wherein the pieces you must destroy are no longer the colorful balls. Instead, it is a ceaseless army of enemy ships. The action can get pretty frantic (but oh, so much fun).

Swimming in Richness

As you travel from exotic location to exotic location, you'll have to opportunity to collect a bounty of gold coins and other treasures. If you thought being a pirate was a difficult and ardeous existence, you haven't experienced the richness that the lifestyle could bring. Booming, simply booming.

With 100 faschinating levels to enjoy and absolutely gorgeous graphics rendered in three dimensions, Cannon Blast, for the lack of a better term, is an absolute blast to play. Load up that cannon, blow the competition out of the water, and swashbuckle your way to greatness. Will you be all washed up or rise to infamy? It's completely up to you.
