Everyone Loves Sundaes

As a little girl, Cindy was very fond of her grandma's homemade ice cream. She often dreamed of making ice cream just as good when she got older. Eventually, Cindy's grandma passed away; but before she did, she wrote her granddaughter a letter. Cindy found this letter after her passing, and to her surprise, it contained all of the old recipes for the ice cream that she loved so much!

Bursting with excitement, she dove right in and was ecstatic to find that she could faithfully recreate her grandmother's ice cream flavors! She made all of her friends try her recipes, and with their encouragement, Cindy is finally opening up her own ice cream parlor!

A Puzzling Affair

From the sounds of the premise, one might assume that this game would play similar to games like Diner Dash. However, it's actually quite a bit different. If that's the type of game you're looking for, you won't quite find it here, but what you will find is a fun, unique game all in its own.

In Cindy's Sundaes, your job is to ensure that all of the customers get their desired servings of ice cream. However, the way you do this is not by running around ala' Diner Dash. The gameplay found here is much more puzzle-oriented. You're given a gameboard full of different flavors of ice cream and you must grab and drag the rows to make matches of three or more. Each match you make will fill up a progress meter located on the side of the screen; once the meter is full, the customer is satisfied.

When matching ice cream flavors, it's important to be quick, as the longer a customer has the wait, the more upset they get and the less they'll tip you. The customer's level of happiness can be seen on a slider bar next to their progress meter; they will also have a very noticeable grimace on their face. A happy customer is not a high paying customer!

Like other games of this type, you have a certain quota to meet each day. Once you rake in enough dough to meet your daily goal, you'll get a shot at an expert goal. If you're able to meet that goal, expect even more points. During the course of the game, you'll also get the chance to earn cherries. Cherries act as bonus tokens that allow you to buy special items, like new flavors and such, which will earn you even more points.

A Superb Sundae

Cindy's Sundae is a fun, original game that could totally give game players that breath of fresh air that they've been looking for. The matching gameplay works well with the ice cream parlor premise, and although a lot of what the game offers is unique, there are definitely elements that should be familiar to seasoned gamers. If you're looking for some simple fun that can also prove to be quite challenging, I would say this product is worth the money.
