I Need to See the World
Relaxing in the sand and sipping on coconut juice at the beach sounds like quite the dream existence. Mike really enjoys this relaxed lifestyle consisting of sun and surf, but Cleo has grown restless with the lack of activity. Despite calling Hawaii her home, Cleo years to see the rest of the world and is willing to do anything to achieve her goals.
Rather than just sitting around and complaining, Cleo has taken it upon herself to save up the money so that she can indeed travel all the way around the world, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. In her effort to save up enough money, she decides to work at the local costume rental shop.
In this terrific time-management simulation, you guide Cleo through the business of running a costume rental store, matching customers with their chosen costumes. We're not here to judge, so if someone wants to dress up in jungle gear, that's their prerogative.
Dressing Up for Fun and Profit
As each customer comes walking through the door of the rental shop, it is your job to accommodate their exact needs and desires. Some clients will need more guidance than others. Some will be in more in a rush, while others are more relaxed. You also have to juggle the pressing requests of the numerous customers in your store, ensuring that they all leave happy with their shopping experience. What steps are involved?
- Drag the new customer to an available mirror
- Discuss possibilities with the customer in front of the mirror
- Drag the customer to an available dressing room
- Select the costume that makes the customer the happiest
- Drag the customer to the alterations section
- Make the appropriate changes to the outfit
- Accept payment at the cash register
How can tell the costume is the right one for your customer? As you hover over the different outfits on the rack, pay close attention to the facial expression of your customer. Some outfits result in a frown, others in a mild smirk, but there will always be one costume that elicits a big smile. Always choose that one.
A Puzzling Distraction
As if handling the needs of all those customers wasn't enough to keep you busy, there is also the task of keeping all of those costumes clean and ready to go. In the top-left corner of the game screen, you'll notice a small window that represents the laundry section of your costume store.
There, each costume is represented by a colored block and more blocks continually fall from the top of the screen. Your mother once taught you that you need to organize your laundry and this applies here today. Click on matching groups of three or more colored blocks to remove them from the grid. The goal is to keep this laundry area as clear as possible. Bear in mind that the laundry must be handled at the same time as the costume requests of your customers. Split your attention and tend to both tasks simultaneously.
Pirates, Police, and Polynesians
Some people will choose to dress up as swashbucklers. Others are more inclined to take the appearance of law enforcement, suave international spies, or even fantastical fairies complete with wings. They have their reasons and it's job to take care of their wishes. By keeping up with all of these costume needs, you'll save up enough money to send Cleo on a trip of a lifetime. The journey starts in Hawaii, but who knows where it will end?
