Lending a Hand to Uncle Bill
We're surrounded by what appear to be a lot of modern conveniences these days. We are hooked to our computers, connected to our video game consoles, and we have our eyes glued to the television. Sometimes, there is a need to disconnect from the matrix, so to speak, and live life through simpler times. With an unexpected power outage in the area, the family in this game suddenly gets inspired to head out to the family farm.
You see, Uncle Bill isn't doing so well with his farm. He's having a hard time competing with some of the larger farms in the area, especially since he wants to offer nothing other than fresh organic produce. Uncle Bill needs your help to turn his farm around and transform it back into a viable enterprise. Leave your cell phones and PDAs behind, because you're going to get your hands dirty working on this farm. And it will be the most enjoyable part of your day.
The Cycle of Care
In taking care of the various animals on Uncle Bill's farm, you will find that they generally go through four main activities in a cyclic manner. Upon waking up in the morning, the animals need to be fed. Head over the feed area to grab seed for the chickens, hay for the goats, and so forth. After munching on their breakfast, the animals will need some water. Go over to the well to help quench their thirst.
After this, the animals will be ready to provide you with some produce. The chickens will lay their eggs and the goats will provide you with milk. When this portion of the day is done, the animals will grow a little tired and take a nap. When they wake up, the cycle renews and you start over again! To keep track of the needs of the animals, be on the lookout for the icons that will float above their heads. As the game progresses, additional animals and plants will be introduced and they may require slightly different needs.
Planning Ahead
Soon enough, you will not need to tend to the animals on your own. Much needed helpers will join your team, allowing you to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Further still, it is possible to plan several steps ahead. For example, if you know that both the chickens and the goat need to be fed, you can click on the feed pile twice to grab enough food for both animals. After this, you can click on the chickens and then the goat and they will both be fed automatically when one of your workers is available!
To gain even more bonus points, try to string together as many identical steps as possible. For example, try providing water to all the animals at the same time rather than breaking it up with collecting produce and providing feed. The more identical tasks you string together consecutively, the more points you will earn. Can you achieve an expert ranking on every stage?
