A Happy Reminder
Diner Dash: Seasonal Snack Pack serves as a reminder of why these games are so darn popular. It has everything that's great about the series: the irresistible charm, the wonderful visuals, and some of the best gameplay you'll find in the entire computer gaming world. With a brand new challenge and fantastic graphics - that have come a long way since the original game - this is the best installment of the series yet.
Everyone Has a TV Show Nowadays
When a couple of TV executives comes into your restaurant and "steal" your employee to give him his own cooking show, it's up to Flo and her grandmother to hold things together with the lack of help. However, any fan of the Diner Dash games will tell you that it'll take more than a big crowd and lack of help to stop Flo. The real question is, can you hold up? Or will you succumb to clicking madness?
Click Click Click
For those unfamiliar with these games, you're basically running a diner with a series of clicks. When a customer comes in, drag them to a seat. When they order, click on what they want, cook it if need be, and then click on it and then on them to serve it. Your mouse finger may become tired, but it'll be worth it. The series has always been known for being challenging and fun and this installment delivers on both fronts. With dozens of food types to pass out, your brain is likely to get twisted into a knot trying to balance everything.
Patience is a Virtue
What makes it all the more difficult is the inclusion of patience meters. Customers only have a limited amount of patience, which is represented by stars above their heads. As the stars began to disappear, you risk losing the patron. Serving a customer quickly will rebuild this meter, as will giving them coffee; you can buy a coffee machine once you've saved up enough dough.
Now, what really makes you think ahead is the fact that different patrons have different levels of patience. Young women tend to get angry quickly, so you'll want to serve them first. Senior citizens are very jolly and they can go neglected for quite a while before getting frustrated. Not that I'm telling you to neglect senior citizens or anything.
Home Improvement
As you gain money, you can spend it on various improvements to the diner. Some are purely cosmetic, such as new countertops and wallpaper. However, most benefit you in some way. You can purchase additional deep fryers and grills, which will allow you to cook multiple things at once. You can purchase permanent speed boosts for Flo and Grandma, which will make them perform faster. You can even buy a jukebox for the counter which will make everyone a little more patient.
Go Flo Go!
Diner Dash: Seasonal Snack Pack is proof that the series is still alive and as fun as ever. If you've ever played any of the games before, you don't need me to tell you what a great time you'll have guiding Flo around her establishment. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, you need to pick this product up.
