Enchanted, Indeed
In Enchanted Katya: Mystery of the Lost Wizard we're taken to the magical land of Graflandia. It's a little goofy and not the easiest to say, but it's definitely magical.
Our heroine, Katya, just graduated from Highest Magic Mastery University, where she specialized in the Potion Preparation Department. And I thought ordinary college was rough! Yeesh!
While going to school, Katya spent her spare time practicing at the shop of Took, a famous wizard. Took would often go off on long and mysterious trips, and when he came back, he would be all the wiser. Took recently returned from one his usual trips, and when he did, he seemed really worried. He then told Katya that he could finally create the most important potion of his life. He promised her that he would tell her all about it the very next day.
Unfortunately, he vanished.
Not only does Katya need to find out what happened to the old wizard, but she must run his shop in his absence! And of course when I say Katya must run his shop, I mean you must run his shop!
Selling With Magic
The formula used in Enchanted Katya: Mystery of the Lost Wizard is one that most people are familiar with. A customer comes in wanting a certain type of potion. You must whip their order up in a timely manner and deliver it to them before they lose patience. The quicker you get the job done, the bigger the tip they leave for you.
The originality comes in the "magic" aspect. I'm used to preparing burgers, deserts, pampering pets, taking care of babies - you name it, I've probably done it. I don't think I've ever concocted magical elixirs, however. This is a new one to me.
You would think that mixing magical potions would be somewhat complicated, but apparently we give wizards way too much credit. When a customer asks for something, simply pick the vial that they want and stick in the portal to fill it with the liquid. If they want a magical rune to go in it, place it on the appropriate spot on the altar in the middle of the room.
This game isn't as fast paced as other games of its type, and for that I am grateful. I get a little stressed when things are going a mile a minute. That isn't to say that the game isn't challenging, however. Just because Katya moves a little slower than other characters doesn't mean she has any less responsibility. Her slow speed means that you need to think out every move and make the most of every click.
An Elixir I'd Gladly Drink
Enchanted Katya: Mystery of the Lost Wizard is different, and as anyone who plays computer games can tell you, different is very good. There's no food to prepare and serve and no hidden objects to find, just some good old fashioned magical potions to sell to your unique patrons. "Enchanted" just might be the perfect word to describe this product.
