Go Granny Go

This is one of those games that can make even the most manly male feel quite a bit feminine. It can perfectly be described as a "guilty pleasure." Although you might be embarrassed to been seen playing it, you just can't stop! You can't rest until you've helped Granny rescue all of her beloved cats! I guess you can always fall back on the whole "it's a girly job but somebody has to do it!"

Granny needs help rescuing her precious cats and you're just the person for the job! You have to guide her through various mind-bending levels and lead her and all of her feline companions to safety. You control her with the arrow keys. More specifically, the right and left arrow keys to walk and the up arrow key will let her climb ladders and vines. Hit the spacebar to make her dig a hole (she's in pretty good shape for an elderly lady) that can help her reach lower levels or drop bad guys looking to do her harm. After bad guys fall into her ruthless traps, you can add insult to injury by walking on their heads.

A Clever Puzzler

Granny in Paradise is one of the most satisfying games to come along in a long time. I absolutely love platformer games and this game didn't disappoint at all. The levels are fun and can be really, really difficult and mind-boggling.

In order to get the cats to the exit, simply walk by them and they will follow you. Then just walk by the little cat door and they will enter it and you can consider them rescued. After all of the kitties have been saved, an exit flower will grow from the ground and Granny must simply enter it (walk up to it) to finish the level.

There are other elements to the game too, such as flowers. By walking by unbloomed flowers (you can tell this by leaves sticking out of the ground), you will cause the flowers to spring up! Doing this is not necessary, but trying to find all of the flowers in each level is a pretty fun little side quest.

Like I said earlier, you can also dig holes with your shovel, which comes in handy often. If you end up digging yourself in a hole (figuratively!) and finding yourself stuck, don't worry. The holes fill themselves in after a couple of seconds.

Pleasing in Every Way

This product is both visually and aurally pleasing. The graphics are very basic but they serve their purpose wonderfully. The art used in the loading screens is also very nice to look at.

The music is catchy but what really shines is the voice acting. Granny will verbally guide your through the game, as well as make witty comments such as "I can still catch MacGyver!" These help make the game a lot more enjoyable.

Granny in Paradise is a solid, great game anyway you look at it. It provides a lot of fun and a nice challenge, which is hard to come by.
