The Customer Service Experience
As the various customers start coming through the door of your modest clothing shop, you will need to fulfill their order in the fastest manner possible. To do this, you'll need to go through several steps, just as you did to complete orders in Cake Mania, Diner Dash, and other business-simulation titles.
- Observe the speech bubble that will be displayed next to the customer. This will show you exactly what the customer wants to buy today.
- Select the appropriate clothing pattern from the selection at the bottom of the screen.
- Take the pattern to the rolls of material so that the article of clothing can actually be made.
- If extras are required, like lace accents, take the completed item to the appropriate station.
- Deliver the finished product to the customer.
- Bring any additional items, like a hat, to the customer if requested.
- Collect the money.
When you make a mistake with an order, you can take one of two measures. First, the item can be discarded through the garbage can, located to the right of the materials rack. Alternatively, if one of the mannequins is available, the article of clothing can be placed on the dummy. Bear in mind that this second option is gender-specific, so women's dresses will not fit on a male dummy just as men's coats cannot be placed on a female mannequin.
Increase Your Tips, Spend That Money
Next to each customer will be a series of hearts. These are indicative of their current level of happiness and the number of hearts will decrease over time. In this way, it's in your best interest to complete their order in the fastest time possible. Should the heart meter run empty, the customer may be lost and they will likely leave your store! That can't be good!
Sometimes, it is a good idea to prepare an article or two of clothing ahead of time, in anticipation of what a customer might order. This way, you might have the green dress ready to go even before the customer asks for it! Also, there is a magazine rack next to the waiting away. Provide customers with reading material to increase their current number of hearts, buying you some extra time.
The higher the heart meter happens to be at the time of the final transaction, the more tips you will earn from each customer. This extra money can then be spent to upgrade your store, including the purchase of new clothing patterns, decor upgrades, and the buying of new equipment. By upgrading your store, you can rake in greater profits and move on to big cities like London and Paris sooner.
