A Classic Card Playing Adventure
Tower Solitaire with an Ancient Greek twist.
With this classically-styled game, your task is to clear a field of playing cards. Atop the discard pile is a single face-up card, and you must find a card available in the layout that is either one value higher or lower, linking together as long a sequence as you can. The longer the string, the more points you will receive. A meter begins to fill at the top of the screen, providing you with point multipliers each time it fills. When you cannot find a playable card, you pull a new one from the draw pile, but beware, this pile is limited (the number on the top card will indicate how many you have left).
Although there is no time limit, per se, you do receive extra points for finishing a level faster. You can track how much time you have left by checking the sundial in the lower-right corner.
Rescue Fallen Heroes
In any given society, you must not completely focus on commerce and politics: arts and culture are just as important in defining your civilization (and keeping you sane). Eight statues were created, honoring a number of influential heroes. However, the great god Zeus destroyed them all, punishing us for our insolence. It is your goal to bring these statues back to their former glory, and to remind the people of the great heroes that once graced our land. During each level of play, you will see your many workers restoring a particular statue, bringing it back to its former greatness. These heroes -- and their valiant actions -- will once again "echo across time." Each statue -- like Helen of Troy -- comes with a story, which is quite entertaining in and of itself.
Find the Power within You
There are two game modes: Original is the classic game we all know and love, whereas Powerup comes with bonus items providing some special effects. The "Wild" card is particularly useful.
A Literal Parthenon
There are 25 unique levels in all, providing you with a variety of layouts to enjoy. The classic "tripeaks" style is available, but you will also encounter a number of styles bearing names like Olympia, Medusa, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Titan, Ares, and Apollo. Each presents a fresh challenge, calling on a new strategy. At the stage select screen, you will see a preview of the layout in the center orb when you place your mouse pointer over its icon.
Unique and Original
Customize your experience in the options menu. You are not restricted a single deck of cards: there are several styles to choose from. For the front, there are varieties with larger fonts to ease legibility; for the rear, you can pick your favorite color and design.
Card-finding has never been this fun. With an exciting combo-based scoring system, several classical elements, and a very intuitive interface, Ancient Tripeaks II takes everything the original had going for it... and improves it. Relaxing and fast-paced, all at the same time. Simply magnificent.
