A Different Kind of Solitaire

Charm Solitaire offers a very unique (and very magical) form of solitaire; believe me when I say that that is most definitely a good thing. Fans of card games that are sick and tired of the same old takes on the popular game will be extremely satisfied with what this game has to offer. Those that aren't readily fond of solitaire, well, they will be.

Everything is presented in a lush fantasy theme, utilizing a lot of green and other Earth tones. This, mixed with the use of castles, charms, and fantastical creatures lend well to the whole "magical" presentation that they're going for. It's done very well and fans of this genre will likely appreciate this. The music that is played throughout the game feels slightly out of place, but it's good music nonetheless and overall it won't hurt your experience at all.

How To Play

Each playing area is a grid made of card-shaped squares. The objective is to fill all of the squares with cards. You're given one card to start, and you must place an adjacent card that is either one higher or one lower. That's the key rule here - in order to place a card, another one adjacent to it must be either one higher or one lower. Using this rule, you must finish the level. You are given a steady stream of cards to complete the level with, and you must use them before they overflow. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, that's simply the start.

Twists and Turns

Each level has a variety of special features, all designed to keep the action from getting stale and boring. It works, and it also helps establish a real challenge - something a lot of games lack. The features are as follows:

• Castles: Castles are sections of the grid that must be filled with certain types of cards, be it picture cards, numbers, or something else.
• Streets: Streets are rows on the card in which you must lay the cards in the sequence listed. Each spot in the street will have either an arrow going up or an arrow going down, and you must place the next card in the correct order.
• Walls: Walls are pains in the rear that can really throw off your game. They do nothing but stop you in your tracks, and the only way to get rid of them is to fill the spots next to the wall.
• Creatures: Creatures is somewhat of a misnomer, as these "creatures" are in fact people. At least, they look like people. The thief and the sharper will both steal cards that are next to them. The only difference being that the thief will steal and run, while the sharper will steal cards and move to another spot on the board, being an irritating pest.
• Bonus Place: In a bonus place, you must lay multiple cards in the spot, going from duece to king. If you successfully fill a bonus spot, not only will you net bonus points, but you will be able to upgrade certain skills.
• Special Cards: Each level has special cards that range from a wild joker to a secret card that can't be seen until it is taken.

That isn't even all of the elements that you will encounter! Talk about jam-packed! Whatever your tastes, Magic Solitaire will keep a smile on your face for hours!
