Sail the Open Seas
I remember I was thumbing through a cruise vacation booklet the other day, considering whether I should sail through the Bahamas, check out the Mediterranean, or take a spin around the Hawaiian islands. And then, I discovered what very well could be the ultimate cruise vacation. For as little (and I say this sarcastically) as $30,000, you could embark on 180 day cruise around the world. That price was before any taxes, fees, or port charges. It would be an absolute dream to see the world in that way, but it's just not affordable. Thankfully, this world vacation is.
Solitaire Cruise takes you on an excursion that spans the globe. You start out in the United States and then proceed to various countries all around the world. You get to see everything from Italy to Brazil. Soak in all that cultural history and enjoy yourself. This is going to be one of the best vacations you've ever taken.
Whistling Your Own Tune
When you arrive at each international location, you will be provided with six unique solitaire layouts to tackle. The goal is to remove all the playing cards from the field and the way that you do this is to click on matching pairs; the suits don't matter, just the face value. A card automatically turns face up when there are no cards covering it.
In addition to the field of cards, there is also a deck of "reserves" that you can draw from. These cards are then shown in the "stockpile" spots, and depending on the level that you are on, you will have either two or three spots that can be filled.
The fun thing about this game is that every country has its own unique theme. This includes a custom deck of cards (the back is the country's flag), themed layouts, and a background that fits that nation. For example, when you arrive in Britain, you'll see card with the Union Jack; a background that features tea, pastries, and the Queen; and layouts that resembles London Bridge. Adding to this customization, you can also play music from your own MP3 library!
A Little Help Along the Way
There's no timer to be concerned about, so you can take as long as you'd like to complete each puzzle. That said, the faster you finish, the higher your score will be. You are also rewarded with bonus points when you removes pairs of cards in quick succession.
For some help, you can also earn some power-up bonus cards. The "Reserve" card gives you an extra slot when you draw cards (this makes it a lot easier because you can view three cards at once instead of two). The ""Restack" card grants you an extra go through the stockpile. And the "Reshuffle" card lets you reshuffle the entire layout if you run out of moves.
Relax! You're On Vacation!
The world is literally at your fingertips. The design of this game is simple and intuitive, yet richly rewarding and progressively more challenging. Anyone aged eight to 80 can enjoy this title, because all that have to understand is the concept of card numbering. Find those matches, unlock new layouts, and sail across the world!
