Cardboard Pieces in the Digital Age
Jigsaw puzzles usually fall somewhere between knitting and reading a good book as a great way to kick back and have some relaxed fun. They require little concentration, only patience, and can be enjoyed by any person of any age. While ten years ago people used to clear off large sections of table to put them together, with the rise of technology it was only a matter of time before they made the transition to the personal computer. And how did that transition go? It couldn't have gone smoother! You are looking at the future of puzzles and the future looks bright!
As overdramatic as that may have seemed, this really is a completely new approach to jigsaw puzzles. I'd even go as far as to say it might be a little "jarring" for some older folk. But rest assured, this is a wonderful new way to experience puzzles. It's much more organized and it stays that way! No more taking up the dining room table for a whole week! There are clear advantages to doing digital puzzles over real cardboard monstrosities and they're demonstrated beautifully here.
Butterflies in the Sky, I Can Fly Twice as High
As if the act of piecing together a jigsaw wasn't enough, this game went just a little bit further to help relieve some of that stress. What do these puzzles depict? Only the most serene of all creatures: the butterfly. Fifty different types of gorgeous butterflies adorn fifty beatiful puzzles. Not only is it great to be able to stare at these magnificent creatures while you have fun, but you could actually pick up a tidbit or two about butterfly species. With any luck, the next time you see one fluttering around your yard, you'll be able to identify it just by looking at it! I'm not the biggest butterfly fan, but the thought of being about to call out species by sight definitely intrigues me. I'm always in the mood to show off!
Puzzles From the Future
The best thing about doing jigsaw on PC is the extent to which you can customize your experience. Had a long day at work and don't feel like taking a long time? Just shrink that puzzles down to fifty or so pieces and breeze right through it. However, if you have the time and feel like going in it for the long haul, why not crank it up to hundreds and hundreds of pieces? Some of the jigsaws found here can go up to almost a thousand pieces, making for a truly epic feat.
You can make the game more difficult in other ways, as well. You can choose how much you want to "skew" the parts, changing them from perfect little shapes to something a little more abstract. You can even change all of the parts into even squares. Finally, you can turn "piece rotation" either on or off. When turned on, simply hit the spacebar to rotate a part clockwise.
If you're one of those people who has some pretty heavy jigsaw needs, I can assure that this product would fill them all. If you happen to have a thing for butterflies, I think you just found your new obession!
