An Adventure to be Treasured

Transverse the globe and seek the fantastic treasure that your late uncle has hidden somewhere in this wide world of ours. Your eccentric relative was an avid traveller, and after his passing, he has left you with his journal, providing clues as to where this mysterious bounty is stored. How can you find it? By playing the ancient game of Mah Jong Solitaire, of course!

There are pairs of golden tiles left in various locales on nearly every continent. Naturally, you have to clear out the "rubbish", so to speak, before you can find the golden tiles. You must find all of these gems in order to unlock your uncle's treasure. Are you up for the (relaxing) adventure? Ironically, time is not of the essence. You can take as long as you'd like.

Relax, Explore, Create

There are three game modes to be explored in Mah Jong Adventures:

Classic: If you just want to enjoy a relaxing session of Mahjong without the pressures of seeking treasure, this is the mode for you. The gameplay is straightforward, just as Mahjong should be.

Adventure: This is the main game mode. Here, you travel the earth in search of those golden tiles to unlock your eccentric uncle's treasure. Along the way, you'll enjoy a variety of tile sets, each appropriately themed to the locale. For example, you'll find dolphins, pineapples, and palm trees in Hawaii.

Layout: Want a creative outlet? Want to share your creation with friends and family? This is a very unique mode in which you can customize your own stage, choosing the tile set, background image, and tile layout. In this way, there are endless possibilities.

The Map for the Road Ahead

To maximize your points, you'll want to unearth the golden tiles as quickly as possible. There is no time limit, but the more tiles you have left on the field when you clear the golden ones, the more points you will receive. Sometimes you can see a golden edge, indicating where these lucrative game pieces are located.

Sometimes it can be difficult to discern exactly which tiles are available. A handy feature of this offering is that playable tiles are highlighted in yellow when you run your mouse pointer over them. Unplayable tiles do not light up.

Near the bottom of the screen, you will find four useful buttons. Hint points you towards a matching pair; Shuffle randomizes the board; Undo lets you go back one move; and Restart sets you back to the beginning of the level.

A Personalized Journey

One of the best features of this title is the ability to listen to your own MP3 music library while playing. Sure, the game comes with its own selection, but if you love nothing more than to jam to Jimi Hendrix, sing along to Celine Dion, or croon away with Frank Sinatra, then you'll surely appreciate this option.
