Embark on an Epic Archeological Journey
They say that long ago, there was The Great Artifact. Its past is a little unclear, but an ancient tale describes god-like powers that this relic is said to grant. Unfortunately, it has been broken into several pieces, scattered all around the globe. To find them, you must transverse the earth, investigate its history, and solve mind-boggling puzzles.
Take on the persona of Mark Hawk, expert archeologist and Ancient China specialist, as he embarks on this epic journey that takes him from Beijing and Guongzhou to Babylon and Delphi. You are treated to quite the fascinating story -- presented to you in a colorful comic book-like fashion -- as Mark treks around this vast world of ours.
How will you earn the trust (and gain the knowledge) of the experts and piece together the Great Artifact? By solving increasingly complicated mah jong solitaire puzzles, of course. Welcome to Mahjongg Artifacts.
Three Incredible Game Modes
The Quest mode is where you will be spending the majority of your time. You start in China, but soon the clues you discover and the information you gather takes you to such exotic locations as Ancient Greek and Ancient Mayan temples. At each destination, you will be rewarded with another piece of a relic, but it will take much perseverance to unearth The Great Artifact. It is also through Quest mode that you unlock the two other game modes, additional backgrounds, tile sets, and several other goodies.
For a more straight forward approach, perhaps you should check out Classic mode. Here, you are presented with the traditional mahjongg solitaire game. Choose from nearly 100 different layouts, each more challenging that the last. Customize your experience with unique backgrounds and tile sets.
Need to pass some time? The Endless game mode, as its name describes, is ceaseless. A tower of tiles emerges from the mist and as you clear out each successive layer, another is added to the bottom. How many layers can you clear before you run out of moves?
Extras that Complete the Package
When you venture from one region of the world to another in Quest mode, you are immediately rewarded with a unique themed tile set. For example, while travelling through China, you make use of a traditional tile set, whereas when you reach Babylon, you play with tiles that feature zodiac signs and Roman numerals.
In each game, you will also find several tiles that boast special abilities. Some, like the Mighty Tile, can be matched with any other available gaming piece on the board. Others, like the Great Tile, will eliminate all remaining tiles of a single type.
If you run into trouble and are getting a little frustrated, feel free to use an earned "Shuffle", "Undo", or "Hint" to ease your journey. Use them with discretion, however, as they are limited in supply.
Invaluable Artifacts, God-Like Powers
You'll quickly become enamored with the lush dynamic graphics, straightforward yet challenging gameplay, and the sense of accomplishment as you piece together ancient artifacts like the West Wind Gem, Double Dragon, Magic Cither, and Ritual Calendar.
With a relaxing ambience, a lively story, and enjoyable background music that will entertain but not distract you, Mahjongg Artifacts is the ultimate solitaire title.
