A Wonder in Itself

Quick thinking and even quicker reflexes will become your greatest assets as you match colored runes to supply your workers with blocks to work with. Your hard-working and loyal craftsman will slave away to help you build your wonder - and beat the level!

The Basics

Seven Wonders of the Ancient World features gameplay similar to Jewel Quest or Bejeweled. Match three or more same-colored relics to eliminate a row, dropping more relics down from the top. When you make matches, the blocks behind them get destroyed - falling to your workers for use in constructing the current wonder. In order to complete a stage, you must destroy all of the blocks. But that isn't all!

At some point during the stage, a big, solid block will fall down. These blocks take different shapes depending on which wonder you're currently working on. This block cannot be destroyed, but instead must be dropped down to your workers. You do this by eliminating all of the relics beneath the block. You'll receive one block per stage, and you must get it to your workers to be able to move on.

I've Got the Power

When you destroy big rows of relics, you'll receive power-ups. Each power-up is activated by switching it with an adjacent puzzle piece. Destroy four relics and you get a lightning ball. Once activated, this ball will send lightning out the sides, demolishing the current horizontal row that it's located on. If you manage to match five relics, which can be extremely difficult, you'll receive a fireball power-up. Once activated, this will send fireballs shooting out in four directions, taking out both the horizontal and vertical rows that it resides on. Clearly, these can be tremendously helpful early on in a stage. After you acquire and use several power-ups, you'll get an extra power-up, in the shape of a star. When you use this extra power-up, it will randomly eliminate 15 - 20 relics across the map.

A Learning Experience

Who doesn't love to learn? Come on; admit it, every now and then when you flip past the history channel, something will catch your eye. The great thing about this game is that it gives an extensive background and history lesson on each of the seven wonders. Education is very important, so anything that successfully merges learning and fun is an instant winner in my book.
