An Intrepid Tile Matching Quest

Take on the role of an expert archeologist as you explore the ancient ruins of Angkor. The site of several capital cities of the Khmer empire (near modern day Cambodia), Angkor will not give you the opportunity to dig through the mysteries of old, slowly finding new artifacts, new relics, and possibly even an ancient powerful amulet.

Embark on an epic tile-matching quest wherein you will discover jewels, gems, and sacred objects. The goal here is to clear all the tiles by forming sets of three or more matching items. In this way, if you are familiar with such popular titles as Bejeweled, Jewel Quest, and the like, you will feel right at home with Angkor. Naturally, there are several unique twists to the match-three formula to keep you captivated, entertained, and enraptured for hours on end!

Piece Together the Ancient Amulet

In the main Classic game mode, you will travel to at least nine unique locations throughout the Angkor region, visiting ancient temples, fallen ruins, and historic sites. As you explore each area, you will eventually unearth several pieces to an ancient amulet. Hopefully, by the time you complete your journey, you will have collected all the necessary components to recreate this amulet. What mysterious powers does it yield? Play on and find out.

The Magical Golden Age

For each stage, there is an "ace time" in addition to the hard time limit you must face. If you can clear the grid before the ace timer runs out, you will have "aced" the level. Ace five levels to unlock the Golden Age. This added challenge complements the main task quite well, encouraging and motivating you to come back for more. Believe me, it is no small task to ace a level, let alone accomplishing this with five levels. Stay focused, practice hard, and you will reveal the golden age.

Tools and Pitfalls

To keep the action fresh and unique, there are several tools, obstacles, and pitfalls you will encounter as your progress through the nine unique locations presented in Angkor. When you clear a set of four game pieces, you are rewarded with an "anystone". This special glowing jewel can be used in place of any other to form another set of matching gems. Other helpful upgrades include explosive stones for a banging good time and the trident to clear any gem on the field.

Of course, there are also increasingly challenging obstacles as well. The unique layouts (and there are so many of them) each present an original challenge. The extra crevasses, gaps, and spaces challenge you to take on new strategies in order to clear all the tiles. You will also encounter pieces that are chained together (cannot be moved), red sticky spaces, and other distinctive hurdles. Also be wary of that time limit!
