An Adventure of Epic Proportions
Transverse the globe and prevent the cult from using its doomsday device against the citizens of the Earth. In Atlantis Sky Patrol, you are given the task of de-activating a series of devastating machines, saving thousands, nay, millions of people from all over the world.
You are provided with a simple ship that can only shoot balls of different colors. Each doomsday device you'll encounter along the way -- there are over 100 in total -- works in fundamentally the same way. There is a batch of stationary balls and while they are still in place, waves of moving balls will slowly trek around the field. Should one of these waves reach the end point, the doomsday device is activated and the game ends. You must prevent this from happening.
Frantic Arcade Action
The best part about this arcade-style title is that it is so frantic, so exciting, that you will literally be sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time. This is largely because of the intense multi-tasking action, charging you to manage the multiple waves of balls while working to clear out the stationary defence mechanisms.
To eliminate a still ball, you shoot a ball of the same color into it. To clear out the moving marbles, you must form a string of same color that is at least three balls long. You must break all of the still balls and remove all of the waves before you can move on.
Along the way, you will encounter several additional obstacles that add to the challenge of this game. For example, the stationary balls will eventually become blocked: They will alternate between being "open" (i.e., available to be cleared) and "closed" (where any marble shot in their direction is completely nullified). There are also bumpers that repel your shots, underground tunnels that redirect the stream of balls, and your ship may cease to move in a straight line at the bottom of the screen.
Strategic Upgrades
Don't worry. You've got help. When you get several clearing moves in a row and when you complete a level, you are treated to several falling coins and parts. When you accumulate enough value, you can purchase upgrades to your ship that provide you with added abilities. These upgrades come in five power levels, with each successive level requiring more coins to purchase.
- Accuracy: Provides you with a targeting light beam of increasing length
- Speed: Shoots balls from your ship faster
- Bonus Magnet: Attracts bonus items toward your ship
- Rewinder: Slowly backtracks the payoff marker when it is not being pushed by a wave
- Disrupter: Delays the release of new waves
Play With or Against a Friend
As if the single player Quest was not enough to satiate your doomsday device destroying appetite, there are two additional options available that allow you to enjoy this fantastic offering with a friend.
Team Quest: Overcome the evil cult as you team up with a friend in a co-operative effort.
Competition: Challenge a friend and see who is the greater hero in this competitive mode.

With fast-paced action that forces you to juggle multiple priorities, wonderfully rendered 3D graphics, and absolutely engaging music and sound effects, Atlantis Sky Patrol is easily one of the best arcade-style games out there.
