Based on the hugely popular television show of the same name, Bewitched puts a fun new spin on the trusted and familiar match-three formula. Twitch your nose, move your mouse, clear some gems, and unravel that magic that is Bewitched.

Eye on the Prize

Whereas other similar titles challenge you to form as many matching trios as you can, there is a distinct goal in mind when you play the Story Mode in Bewitched. Clear a path for Samantha as she journeys through the vibrant map on her flying broom. The enchanting witch can move into an available space if you eliminate the gems that sit on it. For each level, there is a distinct path on the map that Samantha must follow. When you clear segments of this path for her, the space becomes illuminated. In this way, you should focus on Samantha's immediate surroundings to progress her through the stage, eventually finding her way to the end point (indicated by a swirling icon).

Special items add that extra little spice that every title needs. For example, when you find a rotating broom, click on it to clear out all the jewels in that row or column with a "clean sweep." Another useful tool is the magic potion. Earn these by forming lines of five or more, and then use them to eliminate all the jewels of one particular color. These are particularly exciting as they tend to set in motion a fantastic chain reaction, clearing several gems all at once. No need to wait until the chain reaction is completed before you continue on either! Keep clearing more matching sets to keep the chain reaction going!

The mini map on the left side gives you a clear idea of where Samantha currently is and where the goal is in relation to her. This gives you a good sense of which direction you should be heading (up, down, left or right), while the progress bar underneath tells you how much further you need to travel. Keep that time limit in mind (represented by a bar on the bottom of the screen), as when that runs out, the game is over.

Riding on a Gust of Mystical Air

For a thrilling adventure, check out the Endless Mode. Here, when you reach a waypoint, a new one appears on the massive map of gems, continuing your jewel-matching journey. In this way, the action never stops until the timer at the bottom of the screen runs out. Race against the clock and see how far you can get, riding that fantastic broom of yours!

The Magic of the Match

For a more classic approach, have a look at the Match Mode. This presents the more traditional match-three gameplay mechanic, allowing you to line up groups identical jewels as quickly as you can. A good hint is to keep your focus near the bottom half of the screen, as when you clear out one combination, you can set a chain reaction in motion that will eliminate several more gems! Can you beat the high scores? Challenge a friend, family member, or rival to see who is the best Bewitched gem swapper.
