Burger Ready!
I've play a lot of food-themed computer games, but never before has a game made me as hungry as Burger Rush has! It makes me want to go out and get a juicy burger with everything on it!
This is definitely one of the most unique game ideas I've seen. I was expecting something along the lines of Diner Dash - run from table to table, taking orders and delivering food. What I got was a mixture of that and some good old fashioned matching action.
You're given a game area that features rows and rows of burger ingredients. Using the mouse, you can swap adjacent ingredients (I'll refer to them as tiles, just to make it easier). If you make a row of three or more of the same tile, you throw those ingredients onto the grill.
When a customer comes in, they'll tell you what kind of burger they want. You'll be shown how much of each item is required to make that burger. For example, I frequently needed hamburger patties, cheese, and ketchup. So I had to match so many patties, so many slices of cheese, and so many bottles of ketchup to fill that order. Once the food was ready, you'll hear "Burger Ready!" and you can click on the meal to serve it to the customer. Then simply click on the money they leave to take it!
A Life in Food
I use to think that chefs had it a little easy. I mean, flipping burgers? Come on! That's a cakewalk! However, my perspective sure changed when I was the one at the grill!
Having to form rows of specific ingredients can be incredibly hard. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock new recipes, which will give you access to new foods, such as tomato slices. The more and more cluttered the game board is, the harder it is to get the match you want! Several times I had to make lots of matches of foods that I didn't need, just to drop down more tiles so that I could get the stuff that I did need! It gets really hectic and really fast paced, but never to the point where it's not fun.
Burgers As A Culinary Delight?
As your adventure begins, you're treated to a comic book panels of Heidi's life, Heidi being your main character. She's always had a love for burgers, ever since she was a toddler. So, when she graduates culinary school, she decides that she doesn't want to go work at some fancy restaurant. Instead, she wants to open up her own place, and show the world that hamburgers can be fine cuisine too!
Alright, a quest to get hamburgers served alongside lobster and snails might not be the most riveting thing in the world, but it's entertaining, to say the least. The artwork is very nice as well.

I need to wrap this up! I'm hungry! Burger Rush is a unique blend of two very fun game mechanics that makes for an enjoyable experience. You're not likely to find a challenge like this anywhere else!
