Do you remember the first time you set up your first lemonade stand? It was fun in the beginning wasn't it? With the swirl of the lemonade came your very first customer, then your first purchase and finally your very first sales! Happily, you bought even more lemonade, recruited your younger brother or sister and filled even more cups in anticipation of even more customers. But then things got crazy didn't they? Your assistant demanded more time off and worse yet drank the lemonade. Too many customers converged at the same time and too many trips to the kitchen depleted your already dwindling supply. But you did not give up for were determined to make your mark in the burgeoning world of capitalism.
Cake Mania explores that very concept but through Jill's eyes, a woman whose legacy lies in rebuilding her grandparents' bakery. Determined to run her business, Jill defies the domination of the 'Mega-Mart' as she takes you on a venture through 48 levels and four different bakeries. Help her to co-ordinate her operations and watch her business grow!
What's the Mania all About?
Offering fun gameplay and eye-popping graphics and music, the game builds on the successful operation of each of the four bakeries. Starting with just one cake, one customer and a metric ton of ambition, Jill puts in double duty as she turns to you for co-ordination. It's very easy at first. All you have to do is ensure that each customer receives the cake that they ordered and then collect their payment. When that round is complete, take what profit you have and go purchase supplies at the local store. Each new appliance or upgrade costs a set amount that you must accumulate before you may purchase. It might take a few rounds, but that's just what you might need to acquire the next big thing that will ensure your growth! As in your lemonade experience, your business will spiral at an exponential rate putting Jill in direct contact with a hungry hoard of customers. Satisfy everybody without dropping a cake and you will move forward to an even bigger and better location!
How to Play: Tips and Tricks
Satisfying every customer requires dedication and talent. Remembering to collect each payment while taking the next customer's order will necessitate not only nerves of steel, but absolute genius. Try to get the order right or you will be forced to throw any costly errors in bakes into the garbage. Remember that as you take orders, instead of standing around to wait for the cake to bake, you can multi-task! In fact, your very success depends on it. Plan ahead!
Get into the rhythm of the movement, listen closely to your customers, anticipate their needs and the speed at which bakes can be made and in a short time, you will feel begin to feel the sure adrenalin of success!
Oh. And don't forget that it is indeed easy to get confused. Click on the customer to receive an order, click on the cake to retrieve it, click on the icing to add more to the cake, click on the cake to add some sprinkles and then, click again to return it to the customer. The point is, don't stop clicking and you will be fine! That said, keep still your concentration. Try not to laugh too much or even giggle or else you might just find yourself a few cakes behind!
