You Can See Them, You Just Have to Look Hard
Can You See What I See is, despite the somewhat silly and uncreative name, a very well made Hidden Objects game. It doesn't try to do anything fancy, like forcing you to find items by looking at their silhouettes or allow you to use items in conjunction to find even more stuff. It's just a simple and traditional hidden objects adventure. That may sound boring, but trust me when I say it makes up for its lack of innovation with solid, fantastic game play that will keep you coming back for more.
The End of Clyde Curfuffle's Collectibles?
Poor Clyde Curfuffle is about to lose his collectible's shop that he's owned and operated for 30 years. He hasn't been doing very well lately. It all started about two months ago when a fire broke out in his shop and burned up a lot of his Civil War memorabilia. Then there was a flood and it ruined a good portion of his baseball card collection. Then, as if things couldn't get any worse, he was up on a ladder rearranging his action figures when he fell off and broke his collarbone.
Now he's laid up in the hospital with nobody to run his shop. This is where you come in. Clyde needs help and you're just the person he's looking for. You've got a keen pair of eyes and, well, a keen pair of eyes! The beauty of this job is that all you really need is a working set of peepers. Orders will come in that must be filled. All you have to do is find each item on the order list. Easy enough!
Astonishing Detail
I was blown away by the level of detail displayed here. It's so detailed, in fact, that you'll need to zoom in on certain parts of the screen just to find what you're looking for. Simply click the magnifying glass in the bottom right corner of the screen and zoom in on any one of the four parts of the picture. Once you see something that's on your list, simply click it to grab it. Don't click the wrong thing, however, as too many wrong clicks will cause you to lose time.
Of course, you'll have hints to help you. You can get an additional hint in each level by finding Seymour, Clyde's robot friend. Another option for getting hints is to play the mini-game, where you'll have to sort various knick-knacks into their appropriate containers. For example, you'll be given a bucket of buttons, beads, and toy cars and you must click and drag them each into the correct spot.
More Than Meets the Eye
Clyde has more planned for you, it seems. After each order is complete, you'll have to complete a game of memory, where you must match cards. You'll then receive a key that will take you one step further to discovering an extremely rare collectible - so rare in fact that Clyde won't just come right out and tell you what it is. Once you get your hands on this, you'll be able to sell it and raise enough money to save the shop.
I Found What I Was Looking For
Can You See What I See is easily one of the best hidden objects games I've played. The detailed levels make for quite a challenge and the mystery of the rare collectible has me constantly coming back in an attempt to beat this product. If you're a true fan of I Spy type games, then you'll definitely pick this one up.
