Remember Colored Blocks?
A funny thing has happened with computer games. It's commonly known that for each good game that hits the market, ten more games attempt to copy it and release their own terrible knock-offs. The industry started with colored blocks and everyone copied the formula. The formula than evolved and everyone copied the new trend. The cycle happened over and over again. Now, with so much useless stuff flooding the market, it's nice to get back to the basics with those old fashioned colored blocks.
The Collapse franchise has been around for a while. They're generally known as good, solid games, and this one is definitely no exception. With all the modes that you know and love, there's a lot here to enjoy and a lot to keep you busy for quite some time.
This is Platinum, Baby
Super Collapse II Platinum offers four game modes: traditional, puzzle, relapse, and strategy. I'll give you the ins and outs of each, so that you can decide if this sounds like something you may enjoy.
Traditional is the standard game mode in every puzzler. In the case of Collapse, traditional mode involves a stack of colored blocks. You must click groups of three or mode same-colored blocks to detonate them. When you do, other pieces will collapse (get it?) around them. Each level will pit you against a set number of block rows and they will stack up at the bottom of the screen about every 12 seconds or so. If the stack gets to the top of the screen (think Tetris) than you're done. You can also click the countdown bar at the bottom to pop up the new row instantly, but that's only if you really want to show off.
Puzzle mode isn't timed like traditional, but you do have to eliminate every piece on the screen. Puzzle mode is about careful thinking and planning ahead. This mode really requires a lot of foresight and can be really enjoyable if this is your type of thing.
Relapse is for people that don't have enough stress in their lives. The blocks come in from the top and the bottom. Other than that, it plays like traditional. Rather than having to worry about the stack reaching the top, you have to be careful not to let the two stacks collide in the middle. If they do, they'll break, and you'll lose the round. This is a very fast-paced, very hectic game mode.
Strategy is the real challenge here. Like puzzle mode, there is no timer, so you can take all the time you want planning out your moves. The goal is the same as traditional where you withstand all of the incoming rows, but be careful, as each click you make causes one more row to push up from the bottom.

As you can see, Super Collapse II Platinum offers a lot in terms of content. The variety in the gameplay modes ensures that everyone will find something that they like here and the game is challenging enough for even the most veteran gamer.
