Dine and Dash with Diner Dash 2
You can't be at the top of your game if you don't hire the best. Flo is simply the best restaurateur around. So in order for four fellow restaurant owners trying to escape the greedy ravages of their landowner Mr. Big and his mega real estate schemes, they hire on Flo to organize and grow their business into a formidable force. Flo takes on the job and invites you on a mission to help her friends upgrade their businesses, attract new customers and most importantly, make sure they pay their rent.
Take the tour with Flo and visit each of the 5 restaurants. As you take orders, serve patrons; retrieve money; clear dishes and join in the frenzy; you will appreciate the sheer craziness of what has become the heartland job of the nation. Diner Dash 2 gets closer to real life in terms of quirky customers and restaurant operations. You even get the opportunity to upgrade your restaurant in the hopes of attracting new customers. As you progress from level to level, game activity intensifies. Eventually, you'll laugh yourself silly as you try to keep up. But don't laugh too hard or you might just miss an order!
The road to Restaurateur
There are two kinds of game plays:
- Story Mode where you help fight off Mr. Big
- Endless Shift where you have choice to play continuously
In general, game success is built on simple concepts. Drag and drop to seat your guests, click to take their orders, click to deliver their meals, take their money and then clear their table before you seat other guests. Then do it again and again until all of your patrons are well fed and ready to go. Pay close attention to your hungry customers, especially families with babies; or patrons with special needs as the game focuses on your ability to multi-task.
When the round is done, you will be presented with a chart stating your indicating how much money you have made and how many tables, if any you have missed. If you don't serve all your patrons, you won't be allowed to the next round and will be given the option to redo. On the other hand, if you clear all the tables, you will be given the opportunity to purchase from a list: improvements, merchandise or services that will help to entice even more people! Increasing challenges such as placing same-coloured customers in respective chairs; delivering baby chairs; cleaning up spills; delivering dessert orders will keep you dancing on your toes as will a host of very interesting characters.
There are more power-ups in this game than the previous version including a hostess and a mariachi band. You will find them to be of great value. As it stands, vibrant colors and hilarious animations contribute to this game's obvious entertainment factor. Accompanied to a very pleasant sound track, you'll have no trouble helping the restaurateurs defeat their greedy nemesis. If only it were like this in real life!
Recipe to Success
Like art imitating life, there is a particular sequence that makes logical sense and spells: efficiency. Waiting on tables or managing a restaurant doesn't always look 'perfect' but for some reason, everything seems to get done perfectly. Diner Dash 2 relies on your ability to juggle a million things at once while having using your resourcefulness to optimize your movement. Instead of the usual click to order and then to retrieve food, you literally will be 'all over the map' sometimes choosing to do things in what may seem like random movements. Hungry demanding customers may jostle and harass you, but you will always be just one click away from the PAUSE button! This sequel lives up to and surpasses the original!
