Greek God Zeus Needs Your Help
Greek Mythology is a wonderful and fascinating subject. The heroic tales are of epic proportions and of the grandest scale imaginable. And it doesn't get any grander than the God of Gods himself, Zeus. Unfortunately, even with all of his might and power, Zeus is still vulnerable to attack and theft. As such, an unknown has stolen the scepter of power from the almighty Zeus and he has commanded you to retrieve it for him, returning the scepter back to its rightful owner.
The thief is said to be hiding among the halls of Hades and in order to retrieve the scepter of power, you will need some help. Travel along the great mythological lands of Greece and beyond as you collect several artifacts, combine elements, and hunt down the thief. Recover the scepter, give it back to Zeus, and he will surely shower you with immeasurable wealth and bounty.
Combine Elements to Collect Mountains of Gold
At its core, Heroes of Hellas is composed of a very simple puzzle game mechanic. You will be presented with a honeycomb-style grid of historic elements. You must seek out matching sets of three or more of these unique elements, stringing them together by drawing a chain to connect. Click the left mouse button and hold it as you drag your line across to the other elements. After you've constructed a matching set to your liking, release the mouse button and these relics will be cleared from the grid.
On most stages, you'll have one (or both) of two goals.
- Underneath some of the elements will be golden tiles. Collect them all by removing the elements on top of them, and then you can move on to the next stage.
- There may be large red gems that are not immediately removable from the stage. Only by collecting the relics located directly beneath them will you be able to move these gems closer to the bottom of the level. Have them fall out the bottom to move on to the next stage.
Seven Legendary Heroes to Assist You
It would impossible for a mere mortal like yourself to travel to the horrible halls of Hades, and as such, Zeus has instructed you to elicit the services of seven unique heroes to aid you in your quest. They have all been hidden from you, so you must unravel who they are before they can help you. With each hero added to your team, you will gain access to new powers and new abilities.
For example, the first hero you will find is none other than Icarus. When he is revealed to you, his story will also be presented. You'll hear about the wings that were forged for him. You'll hear about the warning he received, being told to neither fly too high nor too low. You'll hear about his wings catching on fire... don't worry, he survived and he'll be there to help you collect gold tiles and progress on your quest to retrieve the scepter of power. Other heroes offer their own stories and their own abilities.
Rewards Will Be Plentiful
When you chain together significant number of elements, you may be rewarded with a certain number of coins. Collect these coins by including them as part of your next chain and when you have collected enough funds, you will be rewarded with an extra component to your palace. By accomplishing certain feats, you will also unlock a series of valuable trophies.
