If you're ready to be taken away on yet another fantastic holiday tale, but you don't want a completely passive role in the events to come, then this hidden objects game is definitely up your alley.
The story begin with Holly, a well-respected woman of regular means, going through her duties on a normal day as Christmas approaches. She comes across friends and neighbors who may need a little help sorting things out, and everything seems to be progressing at a very relaxed pace. Suddenly, Holly is approached by a mystical being who sends the young lady on an adventure that she will not soon forget. And neither will you.
Who Made This Mess?
It seems like everywhere Holly goes, a huge mess follows! Then again, if everything was neat and tidy, this game would be much of a challenge, now would it? The tale begins at the toy store where Holly works. Unlike other hidden objects games that immediately present you with a very specific list of items, your first task is to find the over 20 non-toys that fill the scene. In between the teddy bears and toy cars are everyday objects like watches and books. Find them all to proceed.
Unique twists like this help add to the novelty of this title. As you proceed through each of the richly detailed and vibrantly-colored environments, you'll really start to appreciate the fantastic artwork. It's almost like a very well-designed cartoon, only brighter and more lively. It starts at the toy store, but you soon find yourself at the market, in your kitchen... and then it's up to your wildest imagination where the celestial being will take you. Don't worry; the mess will surely follow.
Earn More Hints, Beware of the Penalty
When you start out on this Christmas-themed adventure with Holly, there will only be three free hints at your disposal. Clicking on the question mark near the bottom-left of the screen will deploy a single hint, highlighting one of the hidden items on your list. Use these wisely. In order to earn additional hints, you'll need to find the golden pine cones that have been cleverly hidden within every scene. Three golden pine cones will reward you with a single additional hint.
At times, clicking randomly in the scene can be helpful, because you may accidentally "find" an object that you are looking for. However, try to keep this practice down to a minimum, otherwise you will be dealt a 30-second penalty on your time limit. In order to determine how close you are to receiving a penalty, listen for the horn. The louder the horn sounded with each incorrect click, the closer you are to getting punished. You don't want a lump of coal for Christmas, right?
