Your Answer Must Be In The Form Of A Question

It was ranked the #2 game show of all time in TV Guide's "50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time." Its question answer format is so famous that people mistakenly use it on other game shows. It's seen several video game versions and it's now brought right to your computer in one of its most accessible, accurate incarnations yet. This - is - Jeopardy!

Jeopardy is a quiz show, so no one will have a problem simply picking it up and playing, whether or not they've seen or played it before. The game is played in three rounds: Jeopardy, Double, and Final. In double, the format stays the same but the winnings multiply. In final, you're given one final question where you can wager up to all of your money. The format is really simple: in each round (except final), you're given six categories, each with five questions which increase in dollar amount. Simply answer a question correctly to get the money. If you pass, nothing will happen, but if you answer incorrectly, then you'll lose the amount that the question was worth. Don't get too itchy with that buzzer finger.

Double Jeopardy

Jeopardy is no easy trivia game. It can be extremely challenging and it will definitely test your knowledge, no matter how smart you may think you are. Fortunately, the makers of the game have taken this into consideration, and have changed the format of the game to multiple choice, making it much more accessible. Diehard fans of the series might grunt and groan, but for the most part, people will find it much easier to get into this version of the game.

I've seen a few games based on the popular television series that simply butcher the format of the show, sometimes taking out Double Jeopardy entirely. Luckily, that's not the case here. Everything from the show is intact and accurately depicted. If fans of the series complain over the multiple choice questions, at least they can take comfort in the fact that that's the only thing that has been changed.

Just Be Yourself

Although it really wasn't needed, you can design your player. You pick a base model from a small selection, then customize things like hair and clothing, including the color of each. Something like this really wasn't required in a game of this sort, but it certainly doesn't take away from the experience. Although I don't think it changes much, I appreciate the effort the creators went to in including this feature and trying to make the experience more immersive.

A Must Have

In the end, Jeopardy is what it is: one of the best game shows of all-time (just ask TV Guide!) and that translates to gaming very well. The look, format, and sound effects are all there, including the infamous final Jeopardy tune. Best of all, the challenge is there. I rarely get questions correct, but that just makes me come back for more. If there was ever a learning experience in a game, this is it. If you're one for bettering yourself, this is a definite must-have.
