Big City Aspirations

You might remember enjoying small town fame in Little Shop of Treasures. That was a fantastically designed game that helped you slowly build up your business, raising funds so that you could open a shop of your own. It was a lot of fun serving customers and assisting local business-owners in their day-to-day activities. It was richly rewarding to earn new upgrades to your own store, ultimately raking in all sorts of dough.

After amassing that virtual fortune, it's time to move on to the big city with bigger ambitions and larger aspirations! The problem, yet again, comes from funding. You've decided on the perfect location for your new store in the city, but you need some money to renovate the place to your liking. And this is where the action begins in Little Shop - Big City. Once again, it's time to help local businesses, earn some extra money, and dress up your superstar store to be!

Bronze, Silver and Gold

When you arrive at each of the different stores in the area, you will be asked to serve the over-flowing number of customers who are each looking for a very specific item. Unfortunately (or fortunately), each of these shops is terribly cluttered and it can be quite a bit of a challenge to literally seek out that needle among the haystack. Try finding a candle in a huge toy store; it's not easy.

At the bottom of the screen are five current customers, each telling you what they need. When you find one of these hidden objects, simply click on it and the customer is served. Some guests will want more than one item -- two spoons, for example -- and you need to completely fulfill their wishes before they are satisfied. Within the time alloted, you need to serve at least ten customers if you want to move on to the next day on your calendar.

Serving ten customers will result in a bronze medal. Help a couple more to get a silver and serve 15 in total to get a gold medal. If you manage to earn a gold medal, you may also have the opportunity to play a bonus round!

Cheeky Monkeys and Feathered Friends

There are a few characteristics that make this title very unique. For starters, the hint system doesn't highlight a single item on your list. It does not grant you a "free" find in any way. Instead, the words of the customers are replaced by images, letting you better understand exactly what kind of turtle the quirky grandmother wants. This also helps to narrow down the color of the items, but it's still no freebie!

You'll also notice that in every stage, there are random pigeons sitting on the shelves and fluttering in the air. There are also sock monkey puppets laughing at you and creeping in the shadows. When you click on a pigeon, a big tuft of feathers flies out at you. Click on the sock monkeys and they are removed as well. I wonder what happens if you manage to find them all...

If you're looking for a break from the main story mode, be sure to check out Blitz Mode. Revisit solved stages and see how quickly you can find a huge number of items. The main story mode limits you to 15 hidden objects per scene, but this special Blitz Mode can start out with as many as 80 items... or more! Talk about replay value!
