Welcome to Imp World
Be prepared to enter a truly colorful world of whimsy! The first thing that will strike you about this game are the highly-detailed 3D graphics and the wonderful presentation that the developers have created for this title. Before you even get into the actual gameplay itself, you get to watch a fantastic song performance from a trio of imps. It's the kind of thing that automatically brings a smile to your face. The song stylings are cute without being over the top and the visuals are simply stunning. You would never think that an Imp World could be so attractive!
After this introduction, you will partake in some wizardly training. Again, the imps that inhabit this world have a very real quality to them and you want to get to know them, to help them. As the game progresses, you'll have to opportunity to learn new spells and assist these wonderful characters in their every day activities.
The Magic Realm
As can be expected, accidents happen. To help the imps through their daily ventures, you'll need to learn some new spells and cast them to rectify their errors. For example, an imp may accidentally crash their small fishing boat into the dock, effectively destroying their boat. You'll need to collect enough magical essence to cast the spell to fix that boat. This is when you enter the Magic Realm.
Arriving at the Magic Realm, you'll be shown a grid of various icons. Your goal is to collect enough of these special items so that you can learn and, in turn, cast the appropriate spell. This is done in three key steps, but remember that you are fighting the clock. Make haste!
- Select chains of three or more matching components. This is done by clicking and holding the left mouse button, sliding the cursor over adjacent components on the grid.
- Collect the required number of each component -- listed on the left side of the screen -- to unlock a special red potion. This red potion must then be included in a subsequent collection chain. The potion is automatically added to the spell cauldron.
- Retrieve all the potions to complete the spell and finish the level.
Along the way, special components may appear on the grid. These include coins and extra potions for casting certain spells. All of these special components act as wild cards, so to speak, because they can be included into collection chain. This functionality can certainly help to get you out of a bind.
Shrouded in Unknown Evil
Despite the fun whimsical soundtrack, beautiful visuals, and friendly atmosphere, the Imp World is slowly getting overcome by an unknown evil force. The imps are now relying on you for help to dispel this evil, an evil that is bringing about all sorts of mayhem in their lives. By collecting all the magical components and casting the appropriate spells, you can shift the powers away from evil and back toward good.
This manifests itself in the Magic Realm as well. Certain spaces in the grid may be frozen in ice or covered in a wooden crate. Don't worry; the in-game help will walk you through how to eliminate these nasty evils. And vanquish them you must.
