MPI Returns!
From the very opening shot of the dazzling Mystery PI: The Vegas Heist logo, fans will know that they're in for an even wilder ride than they got in the first game. The stakes are much, much higher as you step back into the PI's shoes and travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, otherwise known as Sin City.
A new casino is about to have its big grand opening in Vegas, but disaster has struck! Only a day before the doors are set to open, over 4 billion was stolen from the vault. That's right, we're talking over $4,000,000,000. That's a lot of zeros! You have 16 hours to recover the stolen loot. If you can pull it off, you'll be rewarded with a whopping 50 million bucks. I don't have to type out all the zeros again, do I?
Put on Your Best Detective Hat
Fans of the first Mystery PI outing need not be worried; Vegas Heist is every bit the game its predecessor was and a lot more. The visuals have gotten prettier, the story more entertaining, and to top it off the 4 different kinds of mini-game puzzles are awesome.
One of the things that immediately made this hidden objects adventure stand out from the rest is its unique twist on wordplay. To give you a couple examples "paper fastener" actually refers to a paper clip, and "Don't Go" is just a clever way of telling to look for a stop sign. They're subtle changes, to be sure, but the layer of depth that they've added is remarkable. You'll need your brain running on all cylinders if you're going to crack this case.
Another thing to remember when you're looking for a specific object is that it might not take the form that you expect. It could simply be a shape or even a word that spells out the object's name. Wear comfortable shoes while you play this one because I guarantee that you'll be kept on your toes.
As always, hints are there if you need them. You have an infinite number, but you'll have to wait for the hint bar to recharge each time you use one. Once you click the bar, a random item from the list will sparkle, which will surely grab your eye. Another important thing to note is that each hint will cost you a whopping 7,500 points. Keep in mind that you only get 5,000 points for finding an object, so that's actually a net loss of 2,500. Only use them if you absolutely have to. Ouch. Unforgiving? Absolutely. However, it's challenging in the very best way.
A Must Have Game - Case Closed
I was a huge fan of the first Mystery PI, so I was overjoyed when I heard of the sequel. My expectations were high and I can honestly say that each one was met. I was instantly enthralled in the story and addicted to the amazing gameplay and scenes, resulting in hours spent sitting in front of my monitor. The Vegas atmosphere is so expertly captured in each stage and lends to what is a terrific overall experience. Find the key and poker chip in each scene to unlock Unlimited Seek and Find mode - fans of the first Mystery P.I. will know what I'm referring to, but for you newcomers, it's a chance to find every item in every scene - it's almost like 2 games in 1! Oh, and keep an eye out for the 'secret' items as they're worth BIG points...enjoy.
