The National Geographic Channel Presents...
Somewhere along the way, the video game industry seemingly split in two. On one side, you had games that continued to be educational, but they started to lack in the fun department. On the other side, you had games that focused on being fun, but they became far from educational. This is a shame, but it's great when you see games that manage to span this great divide. Herod's Lost Tomb is one such game.
Brought to you by the National Geographic channel, this wonderful title melds terrific hidden objects gameplay with actual footage taken from the trusted National Geographic archives. As you go around exploring the ancient ruins of Judea, you are also treated to some real life facts, videos, and images. It really is the best of both worlds.
Choose Your Expert
As you prepare for your epic adventure, you are given the choice between two very suitable archaeologists to lead your investigative team.
First, there is Dr. Jennifer Dahl. She is an expert in the history and archaeology of the Holy Land, which is where you happen to find yourself as you try to seek out the true final resting place of Herod the Great. Dahl takes a more high-tech approach to her searches, so expect that your on-site strategy will take on a similar philosophy.
Alternatively, you can go with Dr. Samuel Von Kirnitz. While Dahl has been around for some time, Von Kirnitz has recently ascended to the top of his department. He is an adventurous man with a parituclar interest in the history and culture of the Middle East. If you're looking to satiate your thirst for adventure, Samuel's your man!
The Great King of Judea Lies Where?
The goal of this mission is to unearth the unknown tomb of Herod the Great. He was once the King of Judea and he was well known for his colossal building projects in the area. His architectural achievements are truly of legendary status, but the exact location of his final resting place remains a mystery.
This is where you step in. Search through modern-day Jerusalem and the surrounding area, looking for clues that may lead you to the whereabouts of Herod the Great. What really sets this game apart is that it takes advantage of real content from the National Geograhic Channel. In between your searches and mini-games, you are offered intriguing clips from the documentaries, including videos, re-enactments, and ancient artifacts.
Thrilling Exploration in a Real World
