More Than Just Bingo
Slingo, aptly named for being a hybrid of slot machines and bingo, has existed since the mid-90s, though if you haven't heard of it, that's really not that much of a surprise. It hasn't really exploded in the way other games such as mahjong have, but it still retains some popularity. And why's that, you ask? Well, it's because it's darn good fun.
More a game of chance than anything, it still requires lighting quick comprehension and reflexes if you're going to rack up a big score. The rules, while they may seem quite complicated at first (I know I was a tad overwhelmed), are actually quite simple. You start off with a numbered card, just like any bingo card. You also get five balls that rest at the bottom of your card and align with the rows. Following so far? Good.
You get twenty spins. Each spin will give you five different numbers. If a number matches up with a space on the card, you can mark it off. If you mark off a whole row - which can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal - you get a slingo. The object of the game is to get as many slingos as possibly in those 20 spins.
Now that you've learned the basics, let me explain how this product kicks it all up a notch.
Bam! Kick It Up a Notch!
By adding power ups, bonuses, and other items, Slingo Quest Hawaii has "modernized" the game and taken it to a whole new level. The ground rules remain the same - rack up as many points as possible in the allotted spins. However, there are now many more ways to gain points.
For starters, each card has a unique pattern on it, which is discernable from the darker squares. If you uncover this pattern by marking off all the squares that comprise it, you get some major bonus points.
Jokers make an appearance here and they will quickly become your best friends. When a joker pops up, you can mark off any square in that same row. If you happen to get a Super Joker, you can mark off any space on the entire card.
A variety of power ups are at your disposal. Some of them will give you more matches, some will show the location of all the power ups, and some will mark off a lot of spaces. If you uncover a Tiki Joker on your card, it will clear its entire row and give you one slingo. One power up, if you uncover it, will mark off all of the surrounding spaces. There's a huge arsenal here and each bonus will give you a lot of extra points.
Something New and Fun
Computer gamers that are tired of the same old boring puzzle games will find something new, exciting, and above all, addicting, in Slingo Quest Hawaii. Anyone looking for something simple to escape into just found it.
