Super Collapse 3 is a fine representation of the classic puzzle game, colored blocks and all. Its traditional look and feel will appeal to the more old school puzzler fan group, yet it's also fast-paced enough to catch (and keep) the attention of almost anyone who plays. Even if you're someone who craves fancy graphics and complex control schemes, you'll find yourself mesmerized by the quickly rising blocks soon enough. Give the game a try and I guarantee you won't regret it.
Fun-damentals
If you're still reading then you must be a skeptic. Let me walk you through what this game has to offer, in hopes that you will be more tempted to try it. From the main screen, you have two options: quest mode and quick play. Quest mode is where the real heart of the game lies. It will take you through the levels one by one and show you everything that it has to offer.
Quick play mode, on the other hand, is pretty self-explanatory. It allows you to just jump into a level and play. Quick play has seven different modes of play, but, they have to be unlocked in quest mode. This gives you added incentive to beat quest mode. I hope I'm making that sound like a chore, however, because quest mode is truly this product at its best.
Variety Hour
Like I said, there are seven game modes.
Classic Mode: The original (and arguably the best) version of Collapse. Blocks come in from the bottom and you must eliminate them fast enough to keep them from reaching the top. If they reach the top, the game's over. A bar along the bottom shows what colors the next row will consist of so that you can plan ahead. You can also click the bottom bar to make it pop up faster, in the instance that you outpace the game.
Relapse Mode: Much like classic mode, but the blocks come in from the top as well as the bottom, making the game much more fast paced and difficult. You must keep the screen from filling up.
Strategy Mode: Blocks don't come in until you click, making the game much more about strategy than just lightning-fast reflexes.
Puzzle Mode: You must clear all the blocks from the screen. This can be quite challenging as it requires a lot of careful clicking and thinking ahead.
Slider Mode: In slider mode, rows of blocks are constantly shifting, changing groups.
Continuous Mode: Continuous mode plays just like classic mode, but without a fixed number of lines. The game simply lasts as long as you can.
Countdown Mode: Countdown mode operates like classic mode, but you only have two minutes to earn all the points that you can.
