Rebuilding From the Ground Up

The only man-made structure that you can see from space is the Great Wall of China. It is a quite the human achievement, especially considering that it was built so long ago. Now, it is up to you to rebuild the fantastic monument, except you won't be using brick and mortar. Instead, you are equipped with a ceaseless supply of letter tiles. Using these lexicon-powered "bricks", you must form words of increasing length, redeveloping a path, and rebuilding that great wall.

Use your mouse to highlight and click adjacent letter tiles (horizontally, vertically, and even diagonally), chaining together as many pieces as you can to create a series of words. In this way, the gameplay is very similar to the hugely popular Bookworm series, but you aren't ensconced in the quiet safety of a library. You are at war!

Defending the Nation

It is up to you to defend China against the invading Mongol army! Explore the full length of the Great Wall as you progress through a series of gates, passes, points, and forts. Along the way, you will encounter Mongol forces that will present you with quite the word-forming challenge. The beautiful backgrounds give a sense of history, whereas the authentic ethnic music really surrounds you in this ancient world. The fantastic Adventure Mode will provide you with an epic journey, a timeless story, a few words of wisdom too.

Quick Play with Two Thrilling Options

Not quite ready for the full adventure? Or maybe you're looking for a slightly different experience? Fret not as there are two other thrilling options you can consider via the Quick Play Mode. From there you can access:

Battle: The conflict has escalated and now you are face to face with the invading troops from Mongolia. At the bottom of the screen, your Chinese representative is directly struggling against a Mongolian warrior. Push the Mongol invader all the way to the right of the screen -- by continually forming words -- to move on to the next stage, and the next challenger. Be careful, though, as your opponent is fighting back with great fervor, attempting to push your character all the way to the left!

Conquest: Think you have what it takes to take over an entire region? In the Conquest mode, you must convert all the spaces into red tiles. Each time you use a tile, it changes color and you must fill the screen with red letter tiles before time runs out. This calls for increased forethought and improved strategy.

Helpful Powerups and Point Multipliers

There are a series of useful bonuses that will ease your journey and improve your score (top scores can be found in the High Scores section in the game). Among these are the ruby, sapphire, and emerald letter tiles that multiply your word score by 4x, 3x, and 2x. Moreover, the star tiles can be used in place of any letter, the bombs make for some rather explosive results, and the gold coins will surely make you rich. Use them all to their absolute fullest and you may be the greatest leader and word-making warrior of all time!
