Twist and Shout
While the twist part of Text Twist 2 is pretty obvious, if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself shouting as well. I can't remember how many times I lost a level, just to shout "I should've known that!" Still, despite all of the frustrated yelling and frantic clicking, this product is some of the most fun I've had in a long while.
Twisted Text
Text Twist 2 is a game all about anagrams, and as a total word junkie, I fell in love with this product the moment I started playing it. You can play any of five different game modes - all from the start, no need to unlock anything. In each mode, the rules are different, but the gameplay remains relatively the same. This is a good thing to, as it's perfect!
You're given a certain amount of letters with which to make words out of. In the options screen, you can choose whether you want the game to go up to six, seven, or eight letter words. The shortest words I've come across have been five letters.
These letters appear in a random order - twisted, if you will - and your job is to form a certain amount of words out of them. You'll need to create so many 3-letter words, so many 4-letter words, and so on and so forth. There are usually only one or two words that use all of the letters, and I assure you, they'll be doozies!
If you get stuck, don't forget that you can always hit the twist button to scramble the letters, possibly sparking fresh ideas.
Timed and Untimed
These two modes work the same way, with the major exception being that untimed doesn't give you any sort of time limit. This is good for those looking for a more relaxing game, but as for me, bring on the pressure!
These are the basic modes of the game. Simply find words, and once you get the "bingo word" - a word that uses all of the letters - you can go onto the next round.
Word of the Day
This mode is perfect for when you only have time for a short game. Each day there's a new word, so it'll never get old!
Lighting
Slightly different than the other modes, this is my personal favorite. At the start of the round, you have five words to unscramble before the times runs out. For each word you solve, you get more time. Solve all of them to move onto the next round.
Crossword
Unlike normal crossword puzzles, where you must guess predetermined answers, in this version you simply have to fill in all the blanks using the letters you get. It's not as easy as it sounds!
After "Word"
Like I said, I'm a total word junkie, so this game was a dream come true. Still, even if you don't share my enthusiasm, this is a good way to have some fun and boost your brainpower. When the clock is ticking and you're frantically scrambling the letters about, it's one heck of a rush!
