Unearthing a Whole Lot of Fun
Dust the cobwebs off the ol' noggin and sift through that mental lexicon as you try to spell as many words as you can from the six scrambled letters provided. You can either use the mouse to click on the individual letters, or type them out on your computer keyboard. To enter the word, either click on the "enter" button or press the associated key on your keyboard. While it may not directly provide you with a "free" word, you can also use the scramble function (by tapping the space bar) for a little inspiration. This re-arranges the six letters, perhaps stirring up some new ideas in that ever-expanding mental stash of words you have bouncing around in your skull.
There are three fun ways to play: Action, Puzzle, and Classic.
Gopher Wants a Carrot
Jump right into the thick of things with the heart-pounding Action mode. By spelling words, you help the gopher at the bottom of the screen burrow his way to a delicious carrot: The longer the word, the more he travels. Your goal in the Action mode is to eat as many carrots as possible, trying your darndest to satisfy his insatiable appetite. The carrots move further away with each progressive stage, and the clock keeps ticking down (you add more time by finding more words). Work at a breakneck pace and have a digging good time!
Relax and Find Words
It may not exactly be a walk in the park, but you can go at your own pace in the cranium-twisting Puzzle mode. Instead of simply meeting a certain quota for each level, you must find every word possible from the six letters provided. You'll see how many and how long these words are from the display near the top of the screen. There is no clock, so you can take as long as you'd like, but this mode really stretches your vocabulary skills! For a little help, use the "hint" feature, but be forewarned: your overall score is reduced each time you use a hint, so be thrifty and rely on your own noggin more often than not.
A Timely Challenge
To really get your pulse racing, take a gander at the Classic game mode. Within the time alloted, you must find enough words to get the gopher to his carrot. The longer the entry, the more he digs, and the closer you get to your goal. For an even greater reward, reach a little further and aim for the absolutely delectable turnip!
